Vikings come up short against Trinity Valley

The Vikings battled defending National Champion Trinity Valley on Saturday, Nov. 8 as they returned home for the start of a four game homestand.
In another back and forth game, the Vikings were step for step with the defending champions. Mykel Valrie connected on a 3 that jump started an 11-4 run capped off with eight straight points from Julian Greer to pull within three points in the first half. Later in the half, Dupree Fletcher Jr converted a three point play to draw the Vikings within six points. Trinity Valley closed the half on a 6-0 run to lead 37-25 at the half.
The Vikings kept battling in the second half, getting some big baskets from Greer, Fletcher Jr and Gelonni Irvin, but Trinity Valley nearly matched their first half point total as they took the 73-47 victory.
For the second consecutive game, Greer led the Vikings in scoring with 16 points and eight rebounds. Valrie added 14 points and a pair of steals and Fletcher Jr had 11 points and seven rebounds. 

Grayson remained home, taking on Eastern Oklahoma State College on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
