Vikings come up short against Trinity Valley

The Vikings played Trinity Valley.

A big run by Trinity Valley in the first half was the difference in the Grayson Vikings 79-57 defeat to eighth ranked Trinity Valley on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
With the Vikings trailing by just five in the first half, Mykel Valrie hit a big three to pull the Vikings within two, but Trinity Valley went on a 14-3 run to close out the first half and take a 36-23 into the locker room for halftime.
In the second half, no matter the score, the Vikings kept battling, getting eight points each from Davion Hampton and Caleb Alcineus in the second half alone. Alcineus had a big three and a tough turnaround jumper with a pair of defenders in his face.
Alcineus led the team in scoring with 14 points, while Valrie had 11 off the bench. Farvens Ulysse was big off the bench, grabbing 10 rebounds and was a force on the glass throughout the evening. Jordan Williams and Dupree Fletcher Jr each had a pair of assists to lead the Vikings in that category.
Grayson remained on the road, traveling to Murray State College on Thursday, Nov. 20.
