Vikings rout Tribulation Prep

The Vikings got back to their winning ways on Saturday, Jan. 10. Julian Greer scored a game high 27 points as the Vikings beat Tribulation Prep 92-75.
The Vikings scored in bunches in this one. Greer opened up a 15 point lead in the first half with a strong drive and finish at the rim to put the Vikings up 29-14. After a 6-2 run by Tribulation Prep, Caleb Alcineus buried a three and the Vikings kept their pulse on the lead, leading by at least 14 points throughout the remainder of the half. Davion Hampton split the defense for a layup to increase that lead to 50-33, a lead that the Vikings would take into the locker room at the half.
The Vikings continued their flow offensively in the second half. Greer connected on another deep three for a 65-47 lead. A short time later, Dupree Fletcher Jr drove the lane and finished the floating jump shot for a 19 point lead. The Vikings did it all in this one. They got behind the defense several times, the Tribulation Prep defense lost the Vikings a few times on back door screens. Farvens Ulysse cut back door and Jordan Williams beat a double team with a perfect pass to Ulysse who finished the layup. Justin Oriahki avoided the block and scored back-to-back baskets to ensure the Vikings maintained their large lead. Greer put an exclamation point on his day with a poster dunk and the Vikings cruised to victory.
The Vikings 92 points were the most in a game this season, while their 50 first half points was also their most in a single half.
In addition to Greer's 27 points, Fletcher Jr had 16 points and eight assists, and Judah Peña contributed 14 points. Greer, Williams and Ulysse all led the team with six rebounds each.
The Vikings will continue conference play, welcoming Temple to town on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Tip-off is set for 7pm.
