Vikings fall on the road at Collin

A hot shooting second half for Collin was the difference in a 73-60 defeat for the Grayson Vikings on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
The Vikings kept it close throughout the first half against the Cougars.
Caleb Alcineus had a spin move for a layup to draw the Vikings within six, a short time later Gelonni Ervin had a monster slam dunk to bring the Vikings within four. Ervin continued his dominance, grabbing the offensive rebound and scoring to bring the Vikings within 24-22. The Cougars scored five straight, but Ervin had another slam to bring back within five. A three from Julian Greer brought the Vikings back within four points, but went into the half trailing by six; 33-27.
An 8-2 run by Collin put Grayson facing a double digit deficit, but they kept battling getting baskets, but Collin would answer right back, opening up a 13 point lead. The Vikings got big contributions from all of their active players, but were outscored 40-33 in the second half. 
Ervin led the team with a double-double, pouring in 18 points and 12 rebounds. Greer finished with 17 points, while Alcineus finished with 10.
Grayson will return home to take on SWCC, looking to avenge their loss to open conference play. Tip-off is set for 4pm.
